~ design background and academics ~

A Texas native, Diane gained an early appreciation of indigenous cultures tent camping in numerous national parks. At age ten, her family moved overseas, exponentially expanding world travel opportunities. Over the next decade, Diane further developed her abiding interest in peoples, cultures, architecture, art and design. She enjoys languages ~ Arabic, Bahasa (Indonesian), French, Italian, and (Brazilian) Portuguese. In high school in Rome, Italy, she studied Architecture, Art History and Environmental Science. She continued her studies at U.T., graduating with a BARCH, with Honors, and begam her internship at then the U.T. Dean of Architecture's firm, Pratt, Box, Henderson in Dallas, Texas.

~ professional development ~

Diane honed her innate creative and analytic skills working on a variety of projects, from custom residential design to sizing up the missing tower now restored at the "Big Red" Dallas County Courthouse. In New York City, her work on a new ambulatory clinic for the Taif Chest Diseases Hospital, in Saudi Arabia was recognized for break-through efficiency and culturally sensitive planning. Returning to Dallas, Texas, Diane has worked on a variety of residential design projects with outstanding architectural and landscape design firms. She has also lent superior insights into the planning and development of community parks master plans, parks and public spaces.

~ independent work ~

Second only to raising two fine sons with husband Robert, Diane's most rewarding and satifying work reflects her values. Her abiding support of community spaces that evoke fundamental, cultural expression and corresponding exemplary values of art, sculpture and architecture made her decide to harness these interests and launch her own design firm. An artist trained in architecture and a generalist, Diane's talents span architecture, art, interiors, sculpture and design. A strong proponent of sustainability and stewardship of the environment, Diane Van Buren brings culture, modern and organic design into harmony with nature ~ in both community and residential space. Driven to achieve clients' goals with mindful attention to details, she brings her dedication, insightful solutions and "savoir-faire" to achieve great success.
